Join myself (SonoYoga) and my chef husband, Richard (Bongo) for the perfect combo of Yoga and food in this beautiful private property set in 3.1 hectares (7.8 acres) of landscaped grounds on the slopes of a secluded valley on the outskirts of the ancient village of Saint-Maurin in South West France. The main property is the Manoir, a large 13th century farmhouse. “La Séoune” and “Le Sempesserre” (named after local rivers) are the two accessible self-catering holiday gites converted from the property’s guest house.
Montargen, Manoir and Gites can accommodate eight guests for the yoga retreat. Each of the two gites has two bedrooms, which can be configured either as twin rooms for two singles or double bedrooms for couples, and have a shared bathroom, living area and kitchen.

I have gained qualifications in Hatha Raja Yoga (200 hours), Yin and Therapeutic Yoga (200 hours) and also Functional Anatomy (100 hours) as well as short courses and CPD’s in more
Functional Anatomy, Vinyasa Yoga, Forrest Inspired Yoga, Thai Yoga Massage and MFR.
My teaching style is a mixture of Yin (longer holds working into the fascia to aid flexibility) and Yang (the more dynamic style of yoga to build strength as well as flexibility)
This style of yoga is especially popular with those who lead a more active lifestyle and a lot of my clients in Edinburgh are those who do sports such as running, cycling and hiking. However, it is equally as good for those for a less active lifestyle. Each class tailored to suit individual’s needs and abilities.
Richard has been chefing around Edinburgh for over 20 years in various roles from Head Chef to Events Catering. He has trained in many different styles of cuisine and can adapt menus and dishes to cater for most types of diets and requests.
He always tries to source food from local suppliers where possible and his menus are seasonal and fresh. The food will be mainly vegetarian, however we can cater for the pescatarian diet too. No meat will be served.
The retreat format is a 90-120 minute Yang practice in the morning around 8am, followed by a healthy breakfast. Then a 60-90 minute Yin style practice in the evening followed by a 2 course vegetarian dinner.
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the beautiful surroundings either relaxing by the pool or exploring the local village and countryside.
Yoga styles, practice times and food can be adapted upon request.

We will organise an optional guided walk on the second day of the retreat where we will take in the beautiful surroundings of the lush French countryside.
On the last day there will be an optional cooking lesson with Richard where he will show you how to prepare a fresh vegetarian meal from scratch using fresh, local ingredients.
That evening, we can sample the cuisine you have created before we hold a small bonfire for celebration and cleansing.
I am also available for Private Yoga lessons at extra cost.
Retreat price includes Accommodation, 2 daily Yoga practices and 2 meals per day – breakfast and dinner. As well as the guided walk and cooking lesson.
Flights and transfers are bookable separately (we can help you find transfers if you need or give car hire advice)
We will be running a couple of open retreats per year, but we can also be booked separately if you have a group interested.
A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required to secure your place with the balance payable by the end of August 2018.
Flights from Edinburgh to Toulouse are with RyanAir and are super cheap at the moment too!
